In 2023, during my academic research on branding as a communication design student from Jaipur, India, I was drawn to Apple—a brand that has transformed technology and set new standards in design. As a big fan of Apple, my interest wasn’t just in their products but in understanding how their branding connects with people around the world.
For my project, I explored the challenges Apple Pay might face in the Indian market. I focused on how Apple could adapt its identity to fit better with Indian culture, similar to what it has done in China and Japan. This wasn’t just about design; it was about understanding cultural differences and how people think and behave.
To tackle this, I followed Apple’s design approach—paying close attention to detail, keeping things simple, and thinking creatively. I studied Indian culture and mixed its rich elements with Apple’s clean, modern style to create something new and meaningful.
I presented this project at Pearl Portfolio 2023 in Jaipur, where it was well-received by industry professionals and fellow design enthusiasts. The event sparked interesting conversations about new ideas in branding and the future of design in today’s digital world.
This experience helped me learn more about branding and design thinking. It also strengthened my passion for creating designs that have meaning and connect global brands with local cultures.
